Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus

Dr. Sam Sato is a board certified ophthalmologist with a specialty in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, but he sees both general and pediatric patients. He is a graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics. He also received a Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Case Western University and a Masters of Clinical Chemistry from Cleveland State University. Dr. Sato received his Medical Degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and completed his residency in ophthalmology from Kresge Eye Institute at Wayne State.

He was a professor at the University of Arizona in the both the department of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics. He served as Director of Pediatric Ophthalmology and was Director of the Ophthalmology Residency program in charge of teaching. He also taught the basic science courses. Dr. Sato opened his private practice in 1989. Dr. Sato is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Association of Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, the Arizona Medical Association, and the Pima County Medical Association. Dr. Sato enjoys spending time with his wife, 4 children, and 7 grandchildren. His hobbies include golf, travel, and scuba diving.
